What is RFID technology? RFID, also known as radio frequency identification, identifies and reads and writes specific target data through radio signals, and can complete the identification and read and write data without mechanical contact or a specific complex environment. Today, the application of RFID technology that everyone is talking about is actually RFID tags, which already exist in all aspects of our lives.
It works in two cases. One is that when the RFID tag enters the effective recognition range of the RFID reader, it receives the radio frequency signal sent by the RFID reader, and sends out the information stored in the chip by virtue of the energy obtained by the induced current. The first is that the RFID tag actively sends a signal of a certain frequency. After the RFID reader receives the information and decodes it, it is sent to the central information system for related data processing.
In the middle of the twentieth century, based on the improvement and application of radar, radio frequency identification technology began to lay the foundation, and then began to develop initially. Until today, the application of RFID technology has a history of half a century. At present, RFID technology is widely used in China. In addition, the United States, Germany, Sweden, Japan, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Switzerland and other countries, all have relatively mature and advanced RFID systems, and China is not far behind in the development of this area. Launched a fully autonomous research long-distance automatic identification system.
Three types of RFID products
1. Passive RFID products:
Such products require close contact identification, such as meal cards, bank cards, bus cards and ID cards, etc. These card types require close contact during work identification. The main working frequencies are low-frequency 125KHz, high frequency 13.56MHz, UHF 433MHz and 915MHz. This type of product is also more common in our life, and it is also a product that has developed relatively early.
2. Active RFID products:
This type of product has the characteristics of long-distance automatic identification, so it is correspondingly applied to some large-scale environments, such as smart parking lots, smart cities, smart transportation and the Internet of Things. Their main work is microwave 2.45GHZ and 5.8GHZ, UHF 433MHZ.
3. Semi-active RFID products:
As the name implies, it is the combination of active RFID products and passive RFID products. It combines the advantages of the two, and under the trigger of the low-frequency 125KHZ frequency, the microwave 2.45G can play its advantages and solve the problems that cannot be solved by active RFID products and passive RFID products. Problems, such as access control access management, regional positioning management and security alarm applications, close-range activation positioning, and long-distance data transmission.
Six areas of RFID technology
RFID technology has the characteristics of strong anti-interference and no need for manual identification, so it is often used in some fields that need to collect or track information, including but not limited to the following six points:
1. RFID technology application -- warehouse/transportation/materials:
Embed RFID chips into the goods, store them in warehouses, shopping malls and other goods and in the logistics process, the relevant information of the goods is automatically collected by the RFID reader. The delivery speed of goods is improved, the accuracy rate is improved, and counterfeiting and anti-counterfeiting are prevented.
2. RFID technology application -- access control/attendance:
For some companies or some large conferences, by entering the identity or fingerprint information in advance, they can identify and sign in through the door identification system, which saves a lot of time in the middle, is convenient and labor-saving.
3. RFID technology application -- fixed asset management:
Some places with huge assets or valuable items such as libraries, art galleries and museums need to have complete management procedures or strict protection measures. Remind the administrator to deal with the situation.
4. RFID technology application -- train/car identification/luggage security inspection:
The vehicle dispatching system of my country's railway is a typical case, which automatically recognizes the vehicle number and information input, saves a lot of time for manual statistics and improves accuracy.
5. RFID technology application -- medical information tracking:
Case tracking, waste tracking, drug tracking, etc. are all great ways to improve hospital service levels and efficiency.
6. RFID technology application -- military/defense/national security:
The dynamics of some important military drugs, guns, ammunition, or military vehicles need to be tracked in real time.
Seven advantages of RFID technology
1. Advantages of RFID technology -- super anti-interference
It has one of the most important advantages of non-contact identification. It can work in severe and harsh environments. It has strong penetrating power and can quickly identify and read RFID tags.
2. Advantages of RFID technology -- the data capacity of RFID tags is very large
It can be expanded to 10k according to the needs of users, which is much higher than the capacity of 2725 digits of the QR code bar.
3. Advantages of RFID technology -- can be operated dynamically
Its RFID tag data can be dynamically modified by programming and can be dynamically tracked and monitored as long as the object attached to the RFID tag appears within the effective identification range of the RFID reader.
4. Advantages of RFID technology -- long service life
Because of their strong anti-interference, RFID tags are not easily damaged and have a long service life.
5. Advantages of RFID technology -- anti-collision
Within the effective identification range of the RFID reader, it can read multiple RFID tags at the same time.
6. Advantages of RFID technology -- high security
The RFID tag can be attached to the product in any form, and the RFID tag data can be encrypted with a password to improve security.
7. Advantages of RFID technology -- fast recognition speed
As soon as the RFID tag enters the effective identification range of the RFID reader, the data will be read immediately, and the identification can be completed in less than 100 milliseconds under normal circumstances.
At present, RFID technology is closely related to our daily life. In the current Internet of Things era, if RFID technology is improved, RFID UHF technology is mature, and RFID UHF market development is widely used, then the development of the Internet of Things will also take it to a new level.
